The Graether 2000 Pupil Expander, designed by John M. Graether, M.D., Marshalltown, Iowa, provides a gentle circular dilation of the small pupil through the original phaco incision. The single-handed insertion instrument has been redesigned for easily controlled release and accurate placement of the silicone ring.
